Sitinpretty Productions Announces Casting Call for Sophomore Film, “A Rocky Irish Christmas”

[Dublin, Ireland] – [12/16/2024] Sitinpretty Productions is thrilled to announce that it is in pre-production on its sophomore feature film, the holiday romantic comedy “A Rocky Irish Christmas.” Filming is slated to begin in Ireland in January 2025.

This heartwarming and hilarious film tells the story of Jamila Green, a cynical New York journalist who travels to Ireland for Christmas with her boyfriend, Conor. As Jamila struggles to win over Conor’s family and navigate the complexities of Irish culture, she must confront her own insecurities and embrace her true self in order to find love and acceptance in a charming Irish town.

Sitinpretty Productions is seeking talented actors and actresses to bring these vibrant characters to life. A full breakdown of roles is included below.

We are looking for passionate actors who can capture the humor, heart, and cultural nuances of this story.”

  • CONOR TAYLOR (20s-30s): A charming and down-to-earth Irish game developer with a strong connection to his family and heritage. He’s looking for a partner who can appreciate his roots and embrace his lifestyle. Must have a warm and engaging presence and be able to portray both humor and vulnerability.
  • BRENDA TAYLOR (20s-30s): Conor’s sister, a driven and ambitious woman with a passion for social justice. She’s fiercely loyal to her family but also struggles with her own insecurities and desires. Must have a strong personality and be able to portray both strength and vulnerability.
  • KIERAN TAYLOR (50s-60s): Conor’s father, a jovial and welcoming pub owner with a love for Irish traditions and a good laugh. He’s a supportive and loving father who wants the best for his children. Must have a warm and paternal presence and be able to deliver comedic lines with a thick Irish accent.
  • MINNIE TAYLOR (50s-60s): Conor’s mother, a kind and caring homemaker with a passion for birds and nature. She’s a traditional Irish woman who values family and community. Must have a maternal and welcoming presence.
  • AOIFE (20s-30s): Conor’s ex-girlfriend, a beautiful and talented Irish dancer with a manipulative streak. She’s determined to win back Conor and is not afraid to use underhanded tactics to get what she wants. Must have a strong presence and be able to portray both charm and cunning.
  • JAKE WYATT (30s-40s): American, Jamila’s best friend and colleague from Ny. a quirky and supportive videographer. He’s always there for Jamila, offering advice and comic relief. Must have a strong comedic presence and be able to deliver witty lines.
  • Rachel Gray (40s): American, A successful and driven literary agent. She’s confident and assertive, with a sharp wit and a no-nonsense attitude. Must be able to portray a strong, independent woman who is passionate about her work and her clients.
  • Sales Associate (20s-30s): A friendly and helpful retail worker with a bubbly personality. They are knowledgeable about the products and eager to assist customers. Must be able to portray a cheerful and accommodating demeanor, even when faced with challenging or unusual requests.
  • Victoria Faye (60s): Conor’s aunt, a lively and opinionated woman with a dry sense of humor. She’s a bit of a busybody but also has a warm heart and a strong sense of family loyalty. Must be able to portray a quirky and comedic character with a touch of Irish charm.
  • Emma (7): Victoria’s granddaughter, a precocious and inquisitive child. She’s observant and quick-witted, with a tendency to speak her mind. Must be able to portray a charming and mischievous child with a natural curiosity.
  • John Patrick Gray (40s-50s): American, A famous television actor, known for his role in the popular sitcom “The Simple Bros.” He’s charismatic and charming, with a down-to-earth personality. Must be able to deliver lines with a warm and engaging presence.
  • Mall Santa (50s-60s): A jolly and cheerful Santa Claus with a twinkle in his eye. He’s patient and kind, with a knack for making children feel special. Must be able to portray a warm and believable Santa Claus with a touch of Irish charm.
  • Elf (20s-30s): Santa’s helper, a cheerful and energetic elf with a mischievous streak. They are always eager to assist Santa and spread holiday cheer. Must be able to portray a playful and enthusiastic character with a touch of Irish charm.
  • Mike Hally (50s): A charismatic and jovial figure, the Lord Mayor of Cashel. He is passionate about his town’s history and heritage, and he appreciates Jamila’s contribution to the community. Must be able to deliver a formal speech with a touch of Irish wit and charm.
  • Protestor (30s-40s): A passionate and vocal member of the feminist group. They are determined to challenge injustice and fight for equality. Must be able to portray a strong and confident character with a clear sense of purpose.
  • Marcus (30s): American, Jamila’s ex-boyfriend. a successful but self-absorbed businessman. He’s charming and charismatic on the surface but ultimately shallow and unfaithful. Must be able to portray a confident and somewhat arrogant character.
  • Bombshell (20s): American, a beautiful and sophisticated woman. She’s confident and assertive, with a sharp wit and a no-nonsense attitude.
  • Bus Driver (40s-50s): A gruff but helpful bus driver with a thick Irish accent. He’s a bit weary from his job but still willing to assist passengers when needed. Must be able to portray a world-weary but ultimately kind character with a strong Irish accent.
  • Driver #2 (40s-50s): A friendly and helpful bus driver with a distinctive Cork accent. He’s patient and understanding, even when faced with confused or frustrated passengers. Must be able to portray a calm and reassuring character with a noticeable Cork accent.
  • Cashier (20s-30s): A young impatient cashier at a rest stop convenience store. They’re a bit bored with their job and not overly enthusiastic about customer service. Must be able to portray a slightly sarcastic and world-weary character.
